Overview: Class Names
Note: the creating, viewing, updating or deleting of class names within My Recipe Manager requires the 'Class Names' (role) to be assigned to the users account by a school administrator. To view the list of available roles and what they allow a user to do click here.
Every food order that you create in My Recipe Manager requires a class name to be assigned to it. This ensures that the food orders can be delivered back to the correct class as well as knowing which class the food orders were created for.
You can assign a teacher to a class as well as any additional information that staff should be aware of e.g. Allergies, Anaphylaxis and/or Dietary Requirements.
Hint: even though class names should reflect the actual class names at your school, you can name them in a way that is more meaningful and useful to you.
Hint: where practicable, class names should begin with their year so they group by year but also list alphabetically (see below example).
Hint: class names, if created using the below example, do not need to be deleted every year. At the beginning of a new year they can simply be updated and re-used. If the class name no longer exists in the following year it can be deleted.
In the below example, this school has created the majority of their class names starting with their respective year. You can see from the below list of class names that they are clearly identifiable and conveniently grouped by year.
Note: prior to version 1.14 a teachers name was recorded in brackets at the end of the class name e.g. Year 7 Food Class 1 (Kira). With the introduction of a dedicated 'Teachers Name' field this is no longer practised.
Warning: you cannot delete a class name if the class name is assigned to a food order.
