Overview: Recipes

Note: the creating, viewing, updating or deleting of a recipe within My Recipe Manager requires the 'Teacher' (role) to be assigned to the users account by a school administrator. To view the list of available roles and what they allow a user to do click here.

Note: when you first subscribe to My Recipe Manager we offer a free service to upload your existing list of recipe names. To read more about this service and what is required from you, please click here.

Recipes in My Recipe Manager comprise of two parts:

Part 1

The first part is the recipe name itself. Recipe names are created by you. When creating a recipe name the below fields of information, subject to their individual requirements are recorded against each recipe name:

Warning: fields marked as 'Required' must be completed.

• School Name (automatic: your school name will be pre-populated in this field)
• Recipe Name (required)
• Picture (optional)
• Recipe Per (optional)
• Recipe Yield (optional)
• Share (required but is defaulted to No)
• Picture File Name (automatic: will complete if a picture is selected)
• Picture Content Type (automatic: will complete if a picture is selected)
• Recipe Picture Size (KB) (automatic: will complete if a picture is selected)
• Additional Instructions (optional)
• Method (optional)

Part 2

The second part to recipes is the recipe ingredients themselves. Once you have created a recipe name you can then assign ingredients to that recipe. When assigning an ingredient to a recipe name the below fields of information, subject to their individual requirements are recorded against the recipe name:

• Ingredient Name (required)
• Quantity (required)
• Preparation (optional)
• Brand (optional)
• Ingredient Category (automatic: will complete once an ingredient name is selected)
• Ingredient Weight or Volume (automatic: will complete once an ingredient name is selected)
• Ingredient Measure (automatic: will complete once an ingredient name is selected)
• Ingredient Shop Category (automatic: will complete once an ingredient name is selected)

Sharing Recipes

My Recipe Manager also includes the ability for you to share your recipes with other schools. For more information please refer to the topic 'How to Share a Recipe' located in the list of topics (top right corner of this web page).

Recipe Pictures

Warning: picture Size: the size of a recipe picture is limited to 25KB. If you don't know how to resize an image there is a link to a free web utility and instructions on how to resize your image on the form where you create new recipes. You can also refer to the topic 'How to Add a Recipe Picture' located in the list of topics (top right corner of this web page).
